Help, in plain words.
Writing a page
Type on the page, or choose a pen, pencil or highlighter from your tools to write by hand. The question at the top is only a suggestion: press Another question for a different one, or leave it be.
Keeping a page
Nothing is kept until you press Keep this entry at the foot of the page. Then it says Kept ✓, and the page is in your diary on every device you sign in on. While it says Not kept yet, the diary asks before you leave.
On the diary you can try without signing in: Press Keep this entry at the foot of a page to see what keeping does. Nothing you try is kept past a refresh. A diary of your own keeps every page.
Photographs, voice notes and stickers
Open your tools and choose Keepsakes to add a photograph, a voice note or a short film to the page you're on, or Stickers to decorate it. Keep the page to keep them with it. Undo and Redo are in your tools too.
On the diary you can try without signing in: Open your tools and choose Keepsakes to add a photograph, a voice note or a short film, or Stickers to decorate the page. They stay until you refresh. Undo and Redo are in your tools too.
Turning pages
Drag or tap the corner of a page, use the ‹ and › at its edges, or the left and right arrow keys. The ribbon opens the diary's own page; press it again to come back.
Earlier versions
Each time you keep a page again, the version before is saved. On a kept page, Earlier versions shows each one, and you can bring one back.
Talking to your diary
From the book, choose Talk to my diary. Nothing is sent until you tick the box and press Let the diary answer. Your messages are answered by AI, not by a person, and nobody reads them live. There's a daily limit. It's reflective support, not professional care.
Your little world
Every day you keep a page grows a tree in your little world. To see it, open your tools and choose My world. A hard day never takes away what you've grown.
On the diary you can try without signing in: Every day you keep a page grows a tree in your little world. To see it, open your tools and choose My world. Until you have a diary of your own, it's a preview that starts again when you refresh.
Your account and password
Press the round seal at the top of your diary. Password lets you set or change one, so you can sign in without waiting for an email. Forgot it? Choose Forgot your password? on the sign-in page.
On the diary you can try without signing in: A diary of your own signs you in with an emailed link, or with a password you choose once you're in. My diary ↗ at the top takes you there.
Your words are yours
Your diary is kept in your own account, private to you and to anyone you share a diary with. We never sell your diary, show you adverts, or use your pages to train AI. Export your pages, or delete your account, from Your choices. How your words are kept ↗
On the diary you can try without signing in: Pages you try are kept in this tab only, and are gone when you refresh. How your words are kept ↗
Sound
The diary starts quiet. Nothing plays until you ask: Sound off turns sound on, and pressing it again turns everything off.
Something isn't working
Try again in a moment; most trouble passes. A page that won't keep stays on the page, marked Not kept yet, and the diary asks before you leave. How your words are kept ↗ says how to reach us.
On the diary you can try without signing in: Refreshing the page starts it afresh. How your words are kept ↗ says how to reach us.
How your diary gets to know you
Eight short questions about how you like to write, about a minute, or choose a way yourself. They help the diary choose the questions on your pages and the notes it writes to you. For now your choice stays on this device. Change it in Your account.
